To Dos in Case of Fire

Determine plan for escape
Appoint meeting place outside
Practice plan with children
Review with children what to do if on fire:
Drop and roll
Review with children what to do if see/smell smoke:
Keep low, crawl, and cover mouth and nose
Do not touch door handles/doors with fingers; use back of hand


If needed, buy folding ladder to hang from window;
Practice using it
Keep set of keys near locked doors
Keep set of keys nearby if there are window locks
Practice opening windows

Put sticker on window indicating pets/children inside

Keep fire extinguisher in kitchen and basement
    Check expiration date annually
