Most of us have a tendency to wait until March to locate what we need to figure out our taxes. Here is a list of items that should be kept in a special folder marked TAXES that will help facilitate your calculations in the spring.

Depending on your situation and the events that occured in 2007, additional information may be necessary. For example, you may need documents for a sale or purchase of a house, retirement pay, alimony paid/received, or an IRA distribution. Check with your tax advisor early on to see specifically what documents you will need to collect.

A great program to help calculate your taxes is Turbo Tax. It has very clear directions. Check out their website  at www.turbotax.intuit.com.
