Family vacations are a wonderful way to establish traditions, memories, and bonding experiences. However, money and time are always limitations.

There is a small window between when your children are of the age to appreciate traveling (around 8-10) and the age where their own activities start taking precedence (14-16). In order to take advantage of the time you have with them, make a list of places that you would really like to visit. Plot out your time availability – spring breaks, summer, winter holidays and plan accordingly. Keep this travel to-do list updated and strive to make the trips happen.

Its hard to understand just how fast time goes by until your children are in middle school! This is a list of places that have been highly recommended as great places to visit; best ages to enjoy have also been included.

For more information on any of these places, please check out www.familyfun.com and The Ultimate Book of Family Travel by Emily Kaufman.
